PRE & POSTNATAL CARE
Special Care for All Mothers
Whether you’ve already given birth or your pregnancy journey has only just begun, these personalized pre and post pregnancy fitness programs are designed to help you respectively recover from or prepare for labor, birth, and life as a new mom.
Prenatal Care
Prenatal care reduces complications during pregnancy and prevents problems during delivery. We focus on preparing mothers for pregnancy and postnatal life by focusing on:
Cardiovascular
Health
Aerobic exercise to boost mood and energy levels, as well as prepare for the physical exertion of labor and delivery.
Musculoskeletal
Health
Strength training to cope with changes in body weight, shape, and posture during pregnancy — preventing back pain and discomfort, muscular tension, cramping, as well as assisting with labor positions.
Physical & Psychological Wellbeing
Pregnancy-specific exercises to relieve the symptoms of nausea, fatigue, constipation, varicose veins, and general body discomfort. The effects also include improved self-esteem and body image.
Labor &
Delivery
Exercise of all forms during pregnancy may reduce the duration of first-stage labor and facilitate the experience of childbirth.
Postnatal Care
Exercising after having a baby enhances your physical and mental wellbeing. We’ll focus on the following areas to get you back on your feet and fully embracing mom life:
Cardiovascular
Health
Moderate exercise to boost mood and energy levels to deal with the demands of early motherhood and counteract postpartum fatigue.
Musculoskeletal
Health
Strength training to strengthen the pelvic floor and muscles, while also helping regain the body’s pre-pregnancy shape.
Physical & Psychological Wellbeing
Support and motivation to maintain consistent exercise to lose excess weight, improve self-esteem, rebalance hormones and relieve the symptoms of postpartum depression.
BENEFITS
How Pre or Postnatal Fitness May Benefit You
If you have already experienced or are concerned about going through any of the symptoms below, discover the science-backed evidence of how components of our personalized exercise programs may help you throughout pregnancy and beyond:
Low Energy
Levels
Changes to our bodies and the rigors of labor and delivery all combined with little sleep and the stress of caring for a newborn can pack a powerfully exhausting punch.
Cardiorespiratory training during and following pregnancy provides greater energy reserves and enables mothers to manage day-to-day tasks with greater ease. Additionally, a strong respiratory system means that women are better able to tolerate the stresses of pregnancy and the physical demands of labor and delivery.
Upper and Lower
Back Pain
Increased breast size, weight gain, and postural changes can lead to serious back pain.
Strength exercises for the abdominal muscles provide stability and support for the spine and stretching also helps to reduce back discomfort, muscular tension, cramps, and posture-related issues.
Low Mood & Self-Esteem
During pregnancy, hormones rise and fall — dramatically impacting your physical and emotional state. And while some new mothers talk about the joys of parenting, you may feel like you’ve got a case of the baby blues.
Exercise is proven to elevate mood and counteract feelings of stress, anxiety, or depression that can occur during pregnancy and beyond. It also improves self-esteem and body image, helping women adapt easier to increased body weight and bulk.
Inability to Lose Excess Weight
While all mothers are expected to gain weight, many find it difficult to return to their postpartum body after childbirth. Everyone goes at their own pace but recovery from pregnancy and delivery often takes around 6–12 months.
Consistent exercise plays a vital role in helping new mothers regain and even improve their pre-pregnancy shape.
Lack of Support or Encouragement
It is common for mothers to feel a sense of isolation and stress.
A pre or postpartum exercise class provides an emotional outlet and is a tremendous resource
for encouraging new moms to exercise – providing the peer support needed for women to feel comfortable taking away from their babies to focus on themselves.
